This is a conversation between Writer-in-Residence, Michelle Tan and dramaturg, Juliet Chia, in which they reflect on charting the journey of a play after the first draft. What might the shape and goals of the revision process look like? How does the writer navigate obstacles or detours? What resources does the writer need along the way? When does she know she has arrived at a "final" or "finished" version?

Michelle and Juliet begin with an introduction to their working relationship and the process of revising a draft.
The discussion was a porous, intimate one, with Juliet Chia, dramaturg and Joel Tan, Creative Associate prompting Michelle to share how her draft was shaped along the way throughout her residency at Centre 42.
Attendees present also posed questions about their curiosities with the playwriting process.
The conversation closed on a cheery note with some shared challenges from attendees alike, and also extended into how a dramaturg is beneficial to the playwriting process.
