At Centre 42, we believe in advancing and expanding existing knowledge and understanding of the Singapore theatre scene. We believe that independent artists deserve access to a conducive space to create new works, and resources to document their theatre-making processes. We advocate educating and equipping audiences about the history of Singapore theatre in order to support the materialisation of new work in this ecosystem. As a non-profit independent intermediary connecting makers, enablers and audiences, we rely on the support of individuals like YOU to advance the development of Singapore theatre-making.
We also believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about and engage with Singapore theatre. This is why, we do not impose a ticket fee for our public programmes. To help ensure Centre 42 is able to continue providing these programmes, please do consider giving us a small sum - whatever is within your means - when you arrive for any of our events pegged as GWYC. Your contribution will help us to offset the costs incurred when artists research and develop their work for a “Centre 42 presents” programme. These costs include research materials, manpower and other resources needed for the rigorous behind-the-scenes work needed to produce meaningful and thought-provoking presentations.
Centre 42 is honoured to have received the Charity Transparency Award 2022 presented by the Charity Council on 9 November 2022. We received the award in recognition of our efforts in maintaining standards in governance and transparency.
