Directed, written and performed by Oliver Chong, Roots was first performed at the Drama Centre Black Box, from 29th November to 2nd December 2012. The second staging took place at the International Black Box Festival in Hong Kong, from 5th to 8th March 2013. The third staging was held at the Drama Centre Black Box, from 16th to 26th October 2014.
It was performed in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, with English surtitles.
The lighting and sound were designed by Lim Woan Wen and Darren Ng respectively.
