The Book of Living and Dying was first performed at the Festival Village Black Box, from 31st May to 2nd June as part of Singapore Arts Festival 2012. The second staging took place at the Esplanade Theatre Studio, from 4th to 7th July 2013 as part of Esplanade's The Studios. Both stagings were directed by Chong Tze Chien.
The lighting and sound were designed by Lim Woan Wen and Darren Ng respectively.
