Weiqi Chuah is a creative writer telling stories for the page, stage and screen. From short films about afterlife spirits in a pandemic-stricken columbarium, to plays about confronting the ghosts of our childhood selves, her works seek to unpack the ways we navigate our place in the world and the relationships we make in the process.
She is a previous prizewinner of the 24-Hour Playwriting Competition, and her short film, Launder With Care, had its international premiere at the Busan International Short Film Festival. Weiqi is an alumni of the IMDA x LASALLE WritersLab, SRT’s Young Writers Company, the Looking China Youth Film Project, New Scripts Residency with Centre 42, and Devising for Actors and Playwrights Programme with The Necessary Stage.
