Xiao Ting is a freelance Singapore-based hyphenated theatre practitioner. Her creative practice is informed by the intersection of the arts with practice-led research to advocate for social innovation and change. She is currently an Associate Artist with The Theatre Practice (Singapore) and Programmer for Practice Tuckshop. 
 
Her practice in eco-theatre is multi-platform in nature and ranges from long-term engagements with the community to short-term commissions. One such project is: Recess Time – a communal lunch advocating creative approaches to utilising rescued fruits and vegetables. Recess Time was recently shortlisted out of over 700 applications to be featured in the 2021 Social Art Award Book (Berlin). She recently directed Extinction Feast -  a commission by Singapore Writers’ Festival.

As a freelance actor, she was last seen in The Bride Always Knocks Twice: Killer Secrets (2021).

Xiao Ting is a recipient of the Singapore National Arts Council Undergraduate Scholarship. She graduated from Lancaster Institute of Contemporary Arts (LICA), Lancaster University, UK, where she received the LICA prize for Outstanding Achievement in Theatre. Her works have been shown in: Australia, Japan, Shanghai, Taiwan and the U.K. In 2021, she was a co-recipient of the Experimental Micro-Fellowship (Performance Space) and was also selected for the Asian Performing Arts Camp (Tokyo Festival).
