Shona Benson

Although originally from Scotland, Shona has lived overseas most of her life, but Singapore has been home for the longest. She first arrived as a young teenager – and her first job was at Julia Gabriel’s Speech and Drama Centre - and then returned, in 2015, with three of teenagers of her own! 

Shona has worked in Singapore as an actor with Pangdemonium (People, Places and Things, Dragonflies, The Son), SRT (The Almighty Sometimes) and Pachyderm Theatre (Queers, For Your Eyes Darling). Holds TV credits for MediaCorp’s This Land is Mine, 128 Circle and Sisters of the Night and film credits for Eat, Pray, Love. She has also directed in Singapore for T:>Works (Green Leaves) and LASALLE (Get Lost, Cool Shorts).

Internationally, has worked with the State Theatre Company of South Australia and the Sydney Theatre Company, as well as has producing and directing work through her own company, Bluefruit Theatre, with which she toured to major Arts Festivals in Edinburgh, Australia and New Zealand. 

She also works as a voiceover artist, arts writer and theatre marketing consultant and is currently adapting Linda Collins’ book, Loss Adjustment, for the stage.
