Hazwan Norly is a copywriter, theatremaker, and playwright. He is a founding member of theatre-making collective: Rupa co.lab, and Singapore's first playwright collective: Main Tulis Group. His full-length play entitled Pandan, which he wrote and assistant directed, debuted at the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2021 to rave reviews by The Straits Times, ArtsEquator, BakChorMeeBoy, and the public, winning the play the 2021 BakChorMeeBoy Award for Best New Script. He has also written and directed other short plays with Main Tulis Group such as Korban for Singapore Writers Festival, Pitch Witch for BuySingLit Festival, and Tompang for Late Night Texting as part of the Singapore Night Festival. Hazwan accredits the start of his professional theatre-making career to Teater Ekamatra's Mereka Programme, and Playwright and Director Mentorship Programme.
