Amitha is a playwright, performer, and educator. She enjoys exploring Singaporean stories, historical fiction and seeking points of connection and universality in a range of different narratives. Under Centre 42’s Playwrights’ Professional Development Residency 2024 - 2026 she has presented this body is (never) truly yours and Another One-Woman Play. Her other playwriting works include Like a Whisper (TNS Devising with Actors and Playrights), Thaai: Mother (TNS Playwrights’ Cove) and Audition (A Mirage). Her past performances include Re: Almost Left Behind (NUS Thespis), Flower Nymphs (Cake Theatre) and On Display (Short + Sweet). She is also a founding member of Playwrights Commune, a writers’ group and collective that seeks to build a community for young playwrights in Singapore.
