Julie Wee trained as an actor at The Victorian College of the Arts Drama School in Melbourne.
Her stage credits include playing Juliet in Romeo and Juliet by Wild Rice; Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cassius in Julius Caesar, Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Miranda in The Tempest, Hero in Much Ado About Nothing and Bianca in Othello for Singapore Repertory Theatre’s Shakespeare in the Park series.
For original local theatre, Julie performed in Hotel by Wild Rice; The Fourth Trimester, Normal, The Good The Bad and The Sholay and The Way We Go by Checkpoint Theatre and Mosaic by Take Off Productions.
She co-directed, wrote and adapted the one woman Classic Christmas Stories for SRT’s The Little Company.
Julie works as a host and a professional voiceover artist who runs her own home studio. Her voice is used for ad campaigns internationally. Companies that use her voice include Visa, SK-II, Olay and Singapore Tourism Board. She has worked as a part-time DJ on Class95.
As a teaching artist, she has been teaching Shakespeare for Actors at LASALLE and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She also runs corporate professional development sessions in communication, group dynamics and presentation skills.
