The play took nine months to stage.The cast, director and playwright went through a series of improvisations and research, visiting Woodbridge Hospital and halfway houses, and interviewing mental and ex-mental patients, psychiatrists, social workers and so on.


Written in 1981,&nbsp;Borderline&nbsp;is concerned with a group of Pakistanis trying to make a home for themselves in London. Amina, who is at the heart of the story, has to contend with her traditional parents, her liberal friends and her indecisive boyfriend.
