实践剧场的一个特点，是对多元文化的敏感性，反映了新近呈献的当代东南亚文化。而它向各源流剧场的吸取滋养，造成它在传统和现代、本土文化和环球文化之间的强烈拉锯以及深入探索。多年来的舞台创作如《棺材太大洞太小》、《傻姑娘与怪老树》、《寻找小猫的妈妈》、《老九》、《郑和的后代》已成为新加坡文化和创作方法演进过程的一部分。

在介绍世界戏剧经典作品如《高加索的母亲〉入《放火的人〉入《岛》、《原野》的同时，实践剧场经常和海外艺术家合作，作品更多次受邀到国外演出或被国外团体采纳，足迹遍布东亚、南亚、中东、欧洲和东南亚等地。

除了在剧院演出的华、英语剧目外，实践剧场属下还有一个单位：成立千1994 年的学生剧场工程，由实践剧场助理艺术总监黄美兰带领，把戏剧推广到各院校。

戏中的主人公 “我” 回忆并讲述他小时候， 就象一些青少年一样， 很烦恼， 很多问题不能解决。因为大人们看不懂他的画而想离开家，离开这个世界， 他希望自由地在夜空飘荡。

后来他遇到从外星球来的小王子。小王子也有烦恼， 他要 “我” 帮他解决一个问题：“如何保护一棵玫瑰花不让小羊吃掉，但又不用把小羊栓起来， 也不用把玫瑰花围起来？”

Day I Met The Prince (2000)

老人院裡，住了一群不同種族、各行各業的老人；有男有女，有健康的有病重的，有安祥的有恐懼的，有快樂的有憤怒的。

他們都老了，每個人都有說不完的故事，都有一胸膛的喜怒哀樂。有人愛說個沒完沒了，有人則一問三不說。有人溫馨地追憶早已逝去的老伴。有人空閒時就獨自高唱情歌。老人院好比幼兒園一樣生動。

風雨陰暗，日出日落，他們在小院子裡一起飲食起居，一起遊戲玩樂，在表面上簡單平靜，實際上波濤洶湧的日子裡，老人們個個都想盡辦法，爲自己的最後一段人生旅程抹上一道繽紛的色彩。他們一個接一個地證明:

人在最接近死亡的時刻，才明白生活的意義，也最珍惜一輩子僅有一次的生命。

A Midsummer Night's Dream (1999)

A diverse group of senior citizens live in a retirement home called Sunset Rise. They are of different races, religions and ages and they speak different languages and dialects.

But the differences between them go beyond the physical. They vary in temperament: some accept age gracefully, some are friendly, some are quarrelsome and others are vengeful. They vary in their tastes: whether in the food they eat or the clothes they wear. Above all, they differ in how they view the final days of their lives: on

Sunset Rise (1999)

Two young couples quarrel. The boys walk out in anger, and on impulse, they join a religious retreat to listen to the teachings of Buddha. Through this, they are truly enlightened, the world to them now is a state of 'nothingness', and they attempt to abstain from any emotion. The girls want to make up, but are rejected. Determined to pursue, they join in the congregation to investigate. To their surprise, they find out that the 'master' at the congregation is a young man. His teachings are so enlightening

The Spirits Play (1998)

This production tickled audiences to wild laughter during its run in December 1996 when The Theatre Practice (TTP) presented it as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations. Now it's back by popular demand! A hilarious musical written by Lou Bei An (Taiwan) based on an opera script written in the Yuan Dynasty. 一条渔村，原本过着平静、安定的生活。可是， 有一天， 一间工厂却在这村内建立了起来。虽然工厂为渔民提供就业机
会，但，也破坏了他们生活的规律。工厂在运作的过程中，产生了一种废料 — “水银＂。工厂并没有好好地处理这废料， 导
致“水银“流进河里。

而这条河和渔民有着密切的关系，水就是渔民的生命。水受到了污染， 渔民的生活因此受到威胁，甚至导致一些渔民死
亡。当这恶运环罩着渔村时，也正是渔民要鼓起勇气面对自己命运的时候。

0zero01&nbsp;is a theatrical exploration process conducted deep in the night; from 11pm to 2am, an exploration into the existence of four people.

In&nbsp;0zero01,&nbsp;Pao Kun uses a form that has hardly been explored in Singapore.
This form of theatre draws you into the characters as they unmask.
The actor exposes his innermost core to the audience, who use this experience to look within themselves.

A Hainanese Mother has lived her entire life for only one thing - to perpeture the male line of her husband's family. Relentlessly, in response to a call from her ancestral land. Relentlessly, she stitches patch-quilts to keep her children warm and safe.&nbsp;

Relentlessly, she forces her daughters to make similar sacrifices.&nbsp;

The male line, in the form of a brilliant, loving, caring son, turn out to be one incapable of perpetuation of the lineage. Desperately, he tries to escape from the matriar

两个巨人打赌，谁最能吃。于是，他们开始把鲸鱼丶水牛吞下肚子去，又把椰子树及飞鸟都吃光了。慢慢地，整个世界从多姿多彩的色调变成单调枯燥的沙漠，和剩下巨人吐出来的骨头。人们开始忘记了草原的颜色，飞鸟的模样。有人问：什么叫做海豚？

最危险的是：没有东西吃了。巨人开始吃人。谁可以打倒巨人？谁来解放这个原本是五色缤纷的世界？

实践话剧团用意念与形体的创作，在维多利亚剧场为你呈献这个中学生及成年人都适合观看的黑色意念剧《巨人传奇》。


巨人传奇 (1993)

日子，象白开水一样清淡，又象时钟的滴答、枯燥、呆滞......

这夜，奇迹出现了！患痴呆症的老头忽然开启了纹理清晰的思路，兴致勃勃的邀老伴一同回忆年少往事，老伴吓呆了，感动了。她用枯枝般的手把老头搀扶进睡房。她说：“夜了，睡吧。明天再说。”

隔天， 老头又是昏沉迷朦的。可是到了夜里却又醒了。沿着前一夜的思路，他们俩又滑进了时光隧道，再一次体验中年时期的奔波、劳碌、潼憬......夜深了，老太说： “睡吧，迟了。” 老头应道： “对， 明天再说， 我们还有明天。”

随看老头的甦醒， 小房子已不再平静。老太自觉两老再也承受不了回忆所带来一浪强似一浪的冲击。她苦苦寻找老头甦醒的因素。她发狂又无奈地把这一因素别除。

自此， 日子因循，小房子里再没有明天。
