“Grievance” and “Taiwan"sounded similar in Hokkien.
Grievance: to be wronged, unable to make known the injustice.
During the 15th century, the Portuguese founded Taiwan and named it “Formosa"
In Portuguese, it means an island of beauty
The passport reads “Republic of China”

Internationally, we are nameless.
I was born in this piece of land in 1980, now I am standing in Singapore.
Two small islands, looking back, now. What about the future?
From the time Japan returned Taiwan to China in 1945, to Chiang Kai Shek retreating to Taiwan after he lost the battle, to Taiwan being a democratic country, to lately the “Democrazy" and chaos and the future.
