The Little Mermaid (2012)

18 May 2012 – 27 May 2021 @ AGF Theatre, Alliance Française

Synopsis

Using celebrated children's writer Mike Kenny's text, this famous story is magically retold through energetic physical theatre, object puppetry, light and shadow. Far below the crashing waves of the ocean's surface and into its deepest depths we meet a young mermaid. Enthralled by the unknown world above the sea, the Little Mermaid saves a mysterious human, after a vicious storm throws him from his ship. As she falls in love with him, she has a life-changing decision to make. A deal with the evil sea witch will grant her legs in exchange for her lovely voice. Can she make the man truly love her? This is NOT the Disney version, but the original story. Not every fairytale has a happy ending. Will this one?
