The Wind Came Home is a puppetry performance told from the perspective of a stray cat about an ageing couple dealing with mortality. When Ah Gong is diagnosed with cancer, he struggles with how to care for his dementia-stricken wife. The performance was followed by small-group conversations between the audience and the volunteer-facilitators as they enjoyed a bowl of red bean soup.
This event was part of Arts in the Commons: Dakota-Cassia, a multi-disciplinary contemporary art project that explores the process of community-building through the arts in Cassia Crescent and its adjacent areas.
The Wind Came Home was first created for Both Sides, Now (2014) and presented by Drama Box and ArtsWok Collaborative.
