Saga Seed Theatre is proud to present another POPup Play Reading, Half Life, a sensitive coming-of-age story written by up-and-coming playwright Liansheng Wang. Come join us on 3 Oct, Monday, at 8pm for the reading of this play-in-progress, kindly hosted by Booktique Where Writers Shop, and featuring the very talented cast of Shou Chen Tan, Julius Foo and Joshua Lim, directed by Thong Pei Qin. Spaces are limited, so do email sagaseedtheatre@gmail.com to register your interest.
Half Life begins with the scene of Gabriel sharing with his relatives memories of his deceased father at the wake. As Gabriel recounts the highs and lows of the father-son relationship, the complexity and paradox arising therefrom begin to unravel. Confronting relationships at it heir grittiest and most vulnerable with a blend of lyrical and unabashed writing, Half Life attempts to explore the tension between masculinity and love between men as the characters negotiate the territory of unspoken words, tough love and male reticence.
