Singapore Festival of Arts 1990

1 June 1990 – 4 July 1990

Overview

The Singapore Festival of Arts in June 1990 is of special significance to Singapore. It will be the cultural highlight of our 25th Anniversary Celebrations.

The last 25 years have seen considerable improvements in the economic and social lives of our people. The increasing support for the Festival in recent years reflects our aspirations for the finer things in life. More and more Singaporeans are showing a greater interest in the arts, either by attending concerts or taking an active part in artistic pursuits.

The month-long Festival offers a rich variety of cultural programmes with over a hundred performances in dance, theatre and music apart from art exhibitions, literary activities, film shows, workshops and an extensive fringe programme.

I take this opportunity to thank all volunteers and sponsors whose generous support has made this Festival possible.

I wish Singaporeans an enjoyable time at the Festival.
